In my exercise studio, which is a dedicated Pilates studio, foam rollers rule the roost. The rollers stand upright in a line like guards at a palace. We love the foam rollers for their help in training balance, strength and flexibility. The newest addition to our foam roller team is the EVA Full Round Foam Roller. It’s the same size as any other roller, 36” by 6”, but it has a protective anti-microbial foam layer that is a must in any exercise studio.
One complaint about foam rollers is that some don’t keep their shape. They end up looking more like an elongated egg rather than a round sphere. The EVA roller keeps its shape, yet it isn’t too firm for our more sensitive clients. Foam rollers can be used for stretching muscle groups like the pectorals, and can be used as a massage tool for bigger muscle groups like the quadriceps. The foam roller can act as a balance-training tool because of it’s round shape. Physical Therapists have known for a long time about the many uses for a foam roller in terms of strengthening core and trunk muscles.
However you choose to use this versatile exercise tool, you’ll find that its uses are endless. A good foam roller will strengthen and lengthen your muscles, then give you a feel good massage. The EVA Foam Roller is an exercise tool you need to own.
