In the fall and early winter, most people are very good about putting out bird feeders and stocking them with a variety of seeds so that the local birds will have food available in the off season. The funny thing though, is that once the snow has melted off the ground and spring is around the corner, many people stop. That’s really unfortunate because there is still a serious shortage of food available in the early spring. Ironically, there was a lot more available to eat in the fall. But in the fall, the novelty of the bird feeder was still fresh and we were all on our first bag of seed and filled with enthusiasm. With the arrival of the warmer weather, that enthusiasm is all but gone and it seems that no one is really motivated to buy another 10 lb bag of sunflower seeds. Enter the Golden Spray Millet Bird House Bird Feeder.

A friend of mine likes to buy a few of them and stash one of two for the spring, when nature is still being a little stingy with the food sources. Nothing could be easier than simply hanging one of these lovely backyard bird feeders out in your yard and watch as desirable species of wild bird flock to this excellent food source. And in what is probably the coolest twist of all, when the food is gone – and spring is truly here, you’re left with a charming little wooden bird house, ready for guests!
